PAWS Pool Party – The Annual PAWS Pool Party will be held today, Thursday, September 5th, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Chorus/Band/Orchestra: Students should check their Schoology for their rehearsal details. Orchestra students do need their instruments on Friday 9th period. Band members please stay in homeroom.
School Picture Day -Fall School Picture Day is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, September 6th. Families interested in purchasing a school picture package can do so online through the Christmas City Studio Website. Please remember to use the School Code Eyer24 when completing your online purchase.
Library Advisory Board– Would you like to be part of the Library Advisory Board? We get together and discuss any changes or additions that could be made to improve the library. The first meeting will be held during 9th period on September 12th. Students can email Mr. Solano or stop by the library for information.
Jazz Band– Jazz Band is a performance group that plays Jazz Music. Instruments in a Jazz Band are:  Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Baritones, Tuba, Drum Set, Piano, Bass, and Electric Guitar. Students interested in playing drum set, piano, bass, or guitar must have experience on those instruments, must take private lessons on those instruments, and must audition to be in the group. Rehearsals are mostly Tuesdays after school until 4:00 p.m. September 24 through early May. If you are interested in being a member of the Jazz Band, please go to the band room (room 316) to read the information and put your name on the sign-up sheet. You have through the end of the day on Friday, September 13 to sign up. See Miss England with any questions.
Peace Poster Contest: The Eyer Art Department is proud to announce the 2024 annual Peace Poster Contest. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded prize money and a free dinner for you and your family. If interested, please see Mr. Willett for details and poster paper.
8th Grade Art Contest – The Eyer Art Department is hosting an 8th Grade Student Art Contest. Any 8th grade student who is interested in participating should see Mr. Willet in Room 222 for additional information. Four 8th grade student participants will win a FREE 10 Week art course at the Baum School of Art as a prize for their submission.
Book Talk– Mr. Solano is excited to announce an upcoming book talk centered around Jason Reynolds’ Long Way Down. This event will take place on Thursday, September 19th, during 9th period in the library . To participate, you’ll need to get a pass from your 9th period teacher. Looking forward to a great discussion!
Clubs:
- Art Club– Do you like to paint? Would you like to learn how to paint Landscapes? Then maybe the Bob Ross Painting Club is for you! In this club, you will learn how to paint mountains, clouds, and of course, “Happy Trees”! If you are interested in joining the Bob Ross Painting Club, please see Mr. Willett in room 222
- No Place for Hate– Want to make Eyer a place where all students feel welcome, valued and included? Consider joining No Place for Hate. We will have our first meeting after school in room 621, Señora Kannenberg’s room on September 12th. All students are welcome. Be sure to sign up for the late bus or make arrangements to be picked up by 4pm.
- Walking Club– Walking club will be starting on September 10th. It will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, weather permitting. Anyone interested in going for long walks to parks, enjoying the outdoors, please come sign up with Mrs. Batz in the main office. You must get a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian as we will be walking off of school property. you will have the opportunity to sign up for the late bus or arrange a ride home on club days. Looking forward to some nice fall walks.
- Crochet Club: Are you ready to unleash your creativity? Come and join Crochet Club, where yarn meets imagination! Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or a complete beginner, all skill levels are welcome. Sign up in room 635 with Mrs. Dean. Enjoy a fun afternoon of crafting, sharing techniques, and making new friends. First meeting is Thursday, September 12th. Let’s stitch together a cozy community!
- Future City Club: Are you interested in environmental issues? Do you like designing and building things? Do you enjoy working in teams to solve real-world issues? Future City might be for you! In Future City, we learn engineering solutions to environmental issues, and build a model futuristic city out of recycled materials. In January we’ll present our ideas at a regional competition. Eyer’s club will be meeting after school twice a week through early February. Get more information and an application in Mr. Scherer’s room, 522 (pod 3), outside of the Main Office, or the LMC. Applications are due next Friday, 9/28.
- Mathcounts: Do you like solving math problems and puzzles? Are you interested in learning more challenging math skills? If so, then Mathcounts could be for you! Mathcounts is a competitive math team that meets once a week after school where we learn more advanced math skills, solve math problems, and have fun! If you’re interested, please stop by Room 507 or send Mrs. Hummell an email. The first Mathcounts meeting will be Tuesday, September 17. Hope to see you there!

Late Bus
Our first late bus will be Tuesday, September 10th. The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.
Lost & Found
There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.
