Girls Lacrosse Club Informational Meeting

The Middle School Girls Lacrosse Club will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 29th, at 7:30 PM in the Eyer Middle School auditorium. This meeting will provide an overview of the upcoming spring season. If you have any questions, please email girlssting@gmail.com.

2025 Yearbook Sale

Attention, Eyer students! If you’re interested in purchasing a yearbook, you can do so through the link shared by Mr. Ruhf on Schoology or via the Weekly Updates to your parents. Yearbooks are available for purchase now through April 25th. This year, you have two options: a hardcover yearbook for $35 or a softcover yearbook for $25. Don’t miss out!

6th Grade EyeTv Applications

6th Grade Students who are interested in joining the EyeTV Crew must submit a completed EyeTV 6th Grade Application to Mr. Davis in Room 310 just past the Eyer Auditorium. You can find an application outside of EyeTv or by using this link. As part of the EyeTV Crew, students will help create, produce, and film the Eyer Daily Announcements, which stream each morning on the EyeTV YouTube Channel. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to be part of the action!

School Store

The school store will open Thursdays during lunches each week to sell school store items.  It will open on Tuesdays for PAWS stickers items.

Stage Crew

Calling all stage crew students! If you are interested in applying for Stage Crew for the Spring production of Frozen Jr. Please grab an application or use this page. and a conflict calendar outside of the Music room, room 310. These will be due Friday, January 24 but get them turned in directly to Mr. Davis ASAP!

January Literary Lunch

Students interested in participating in the January Literary Lunch must sign up in the Library.

Attention Eyer Artists! 

The annual Yearbook Cover Contest is here!  You can use any medium to create the vision you have for the cover of Eyer’s 2025 Yearbook. It should be able to fit on a standard 8.5×11 page and have your full name on it. You may submit multiple entries. Please submit your cover design to the Counseling Office by Thursday, February 13th. 

Girls on the Run

If you have a student interested in joining the spring season of Girls on the Run (GOTR), registration is now open! This is an excellent opportunity for students to build confidence, celebrate their strengths, and improve their physical fitness. The goal of the program is for students to complete a 5K at DeSales University by the end of the season.

Registration tends to fill up quickly, so please sign up as soon as possible. If there are any financial concerns that may prevent your child from registering, please contact Kristen Hackman at khackman@eastpennsd.org to discuss possible assistance. For all the details about the season, please refer to this flyer. Practices will begin on Tuesday, March 4th, and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, leading up to the 5K on Sunday, May 5th. The late bus will be available for practices, but please note that parents or guardians will need to arrange transportation for the 5K event. We look forward to seeing your student join this fun and exciting experience!

LCTI

LCTI applications are now open! Don’t miss this opportunity to apply for the 2025-2026 school year. Applications are due by March 1, 2025. Please see Mr. Gee in the Counseling Office if you have questions on how to apply. We will be running application support sessions 9th period. The first will be this Friday in the LGI. If you are interested in signing up, please use the link posted in Updates on the Class of 2029 Schoology page.

EPSD Middle Level Spring Athletics Sign Ups

Sign-ups are now open for EPSD Spring Athletics! Any 7th or 8th-grade student interested in participating can register by completing the EPSD Spring Athletics Registration Form available on the Spring Athletics page of the EPSD Spring Athletics Webpage. EPSD has significantly expanded athletic opportunities for middle-level students, now offering Co-Ed Track and Field, Girls Softball, Boys Volleyball, Girls Club Lacrosse, and Boys Club Lacrosse. We encourage families to explore these exciting opportunities with their students and complete the 2024-2025 Spring Sports Sign-Ups before the February 3rd registration deadline.   

January PAWS Pretzel Day

The January PAWS Pretzel Day will take place on Thursday, January 23rd. Students can purchase a soft pretzel for $1 during 9th Period. Proceeds from PAWS Pretzel Days help fund the PAWS School-Wide Positive Behavior Support incentives throughout the year.

January PAWS Cookie Day

The January PAWS Cookie Day will be held on Friday, January 31st. Students who are sporting the school colors will be rewarded with a cookie of their choice during lunch.

Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups

Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups are now open! Any 8th grade baseball player in the East Penn School District is eligible to try out for the Emmaus/Lower Macungie Junior High Baseball Team in Spring 2025. Additional details have been shared to parents in the weekend update.

EPSD January Calendar Update

As a reminder, the East Penn School District will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. 

Clubs:

  • Youth for Christ Club– This student-led club will include Bible studies, games, charity activities, and fellowship. Interested students can sign up in the main office. We meet Thursdays after school.
  • Math24 Club is cancelled on Tuesday, January 14th and will resume again on Tuesday, January 21st.  See you then! 
  • Homework Club– Get the help you need, improve your grades, stay organized and finish assignments in a focused, quiet environment. For additional information, see Mrs. Cosme in Guidance.
  • Book Club – Would you like to meet with like-minded people to share your favorite and recent reads? Then join Eyer’s Book Club. Please e-mail Mrs. Szep at lszep@eastpennsd.org to sign up!
  • Mathcounts is a competitive math team that meets once a week after school; if you’re interested, visit Room 507 or email Mrs. Hummel.
  • Table Top Club: Eyer’s Tabletop Club meets every Tuesday, interested students should see Mr. Davis in the music room (room 310) to sign up.
  • Walking Club will continue every Tuesday and Thursday, weathering permitted. Please make sure to sign up for the late bus or make arrangements to get picked up by 4 pm

Late Bus
The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.

Chromebooks

Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they’re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.

Lost & Found
There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.

Weis4School Rewards Program – The Weis4School Rewards Program allows schools to earn funds to support their programs when families shop at Weis. Eyer families can register their existing Weis Rewards Card to benefit our school by following the link below. Please consider taking these simple steps to help support programming for our students!
