At the October 13, 2025 meeting of the East Penn Board of School Directors, there was a presentation as part of the District’s ongoing work with facilities planning. Specifically, a representative from PowerSchool presented student enrollment projections, and Breslin Architects shared classroom space utilization at the elementary and middle levels. As part of this presentation, one residential development was erroneously included in the reporting of residential developments expected in the East Penn School District. PowerSchool will provide an updated presentation on enrollment projections at the October 27th Board meeting. Breslin Architects will also be present at this meeting to provide an update on their space utilization analysis in response to these adjustments.
Also at the October 13th meeting, the East Penn Board of School Directors discussed temporarily withholding payments to charter and cyber charter schools during the ongoing state budget impasse. After reviewing the legal and financial implications, the School Board chose not to take action on a resolution at this time. Under current state law, school districts are required to make monthly payments to charter and cyber charter schools based on rates calculated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The East Penn School District will continue to make these required payments to charter and cyber charter schools in accordance with law and continue to monitor developments related to the 2025-2026 state budget.
