Each year, families are required to complete an application to determine if they are eligible to receive free or reduced price meals according to Federal and State guidelines. The first thirty (30) school days of each new school year are called the Grace Period. During the Grace Period, students who received free or reduced price meals the prior year continue to receive free or reduced price meals until the end of the Grace Period and/or when they complete a current year application and are determined to be eligible. If they do not complete a current year application and determined to be eligible to receive free or reduced price meals, they will revert to paid status and be charged the paid rate for any lunches they consume after the Grace Period expires. Families receive Grace Period notifications the first week of school (this year on August 30) and before the expiration date (this year on September 30) via email or, if an email address is unavailable, notices are printed and mailed home.
The Grace Period for 2024-2025 expired on October 8, 2024.
