Lehigh Women’s Basketball Education Day – Female student athletes are invited to join Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Snow to attend the Lehigh University Women’s Basketball Education Day at Stabler Arena on Thursday, December 3rd. Student athletes who attend will experience a college campus, learn about academic and athletic opportunities beyond middle school, and enjoy Division I basketball action while being able to meet members of the Lehigh Women’s Basketball Team. Interested student-athletes should sign up in the Main Office and pick up a permission slip. Lehigh University is generously funding this opportunity, so space is limited to the first 25 students who return their completed permission slip. Because this event takes place during the school day, students will be responsible for making up any missed work.

Lions Club International Peace Poster Art Contest – The Eyer Art Department is excited to announce the 2026 Emmaus Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. The Lions International Peace Poster Contest gives students ages 11 through 13 an opportunity to explore and share what peace means to them through art. Participants will have the chance to earn First, Second, and Third Place prizes, along with a free dinner for their family at the local chapter program. Students interested in participating should stop by Room 222 to see Mr. Willett for more information and to pick up their poster paper. We can’t wait to see your creativity and your vision for peace.

Boy’s Basketball Open Gym – Eyer student athletes in grades 7 through 8 who are interested in trying out for the Boys’ Basketball team are invited to attend an open gym session on November 5th from 2:35 PM to 4:30 PM. Student athletes MUST bring a completed EPSD Intramural Consent Form, with them to the open gym activities. This form can be printed from that link or found in the Eyer Main Office. Students who do not have a completed form will not be allowed to participate.

Library DoorDash Book Program – Through the Library DoorDash Book Program, students can request a book and have it delivered directly to their homeroom or classroom! Know exactly what you want? Request a specific title. Not sure? Just share a genre, topic, or type of book you’re interested in, and Mr. Solano will help find something for you. Students who are ready to place an order can use the Request a Library DoorDash Book program link.

Horror Story Contest – “The Last Text Message Ever Sent” – All October long, the library is hosting a Horror Story Contest! Students are challenged to write a spooky, two-sentence horror story around the theme “The Last Text Message Ever Sent.” Stories must be original, exactly two sentences, and school appropriate. Entries are due October 31st and can be submitted directly to the library. We can’t wait to read what our students come up with!

A Day in the Life of a First Responder Activity – Students interested in a future career as a first responder or simply curious about what it’s like to serve as one are invited to attend “A Day in the Life of a First Responder” during 9th Period on October 26 in the Eyer Library. Local first responders will share what a typical day looks like and provide students with an opportunity to learn more about careers in public safety. Representatives from the Macungie Police Department and Lower Macungie Fire Department will be available to speak with students and answer questions. Interested students should sign up using the registration sheet in the Library.

RECURRING

Chromebooks – Students should develop a consistent routine to charge their Chromebooks every night to ensure they’re prepared for class each day. Creating a plan, such as designating a specific charging spot and setting a reminder before bedtime, can help make this habit stick.

Late Bus The after school late bus is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and you must sign up by 10:00 AM of the day you need to take it. The sign-up form is accessed via Clever on your Chromebook.

Lost & Found – There are two places to look for lost and found items. The table in the commons is often where clothing, water bottles, and lunch boxes are placed. If there is something more valuable like eye glasses, jewelry, retainers, or earbuds, please check at the front desk in the Main Office.

Weis4School Rewards Program – The Weis4School Rewards Program provides Eyer with funding for student programs through everyday shopping at Weis Markets. If you shop at Weis, you can support Eyer by linking your existing Weis Rewards Card to our school. It only takes a few minutes to register, and the rewards card must be linked again each school year. Last year, Eyer families generated more than $1,000 simply by linking their rewards cards. Every dollar generated through the program directly supports our students and student programming. Instructions for linking your card are available through the Weis4School Rewards Program information linked above or the Weis4School Webpage. Thank you for supporting Eyer!

Stay Connected – The Eyer Middle School Administration strives to keep the entire school community informed through various resources, including the Eyer Website, Facebook, X, Instagram, and the Weekly Update.
