Parent teacher conferences are held twice per year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Information regarding dates and how to sign-up will be provided to parents before each conference.
Tips for a Successful Parent Teacher Conference
Parent-teacher conferences provide an opportunity to find out how your child is adjusting to the new school year and to get to know their teachers.
This is a time set aside for you to ask questions, to share and learn from one another and to find out how your child is performing within the classroom. Ultimately it is an opportunity to help your child to be successful.
- Ask your child if there is anything that they would like you to discuss with the teacher.
- Think ahead about what you want (goals) out of this conference and the questions you may want to ask. Write them down and bring them along.
- Arrive on time or a few minutes early.
- If you did not have time to discuss everything that you had intended, you can contact the team leader or your child’s grade level counselor to arrange another meeting time.
- Keep your emotions under control.
- Be open to suggestions and ask what you can do to support your child at home.
- Take notes about what has been discussed to share with your child.
