Course Registration

Course Registration Process

The registration process for grades 6 and 7 will occur between March and April. Teachers will provide course recommendations for core subject classes. The 6th and 7th grade school counselors will complete classroom presentations on scheduling and assist the students in submitting their course selections digitally. Parents will be able to see the selected courses through the student PowerSchool Portal.

The 8th grade students will have access the Program of Studies document via the EHS website. The Program of Studies describes each course offered in the high school. Please take some time to become familiar with our course offerings. Course selection is regarded as an important function and should be given very serious consideration by students and parents.

In February, students will discuss next year’s course selections with their subject teachers. All teachers will use the knowledge they have gained having your student in class to assist them in choosing an appropriate course for next year which best suits their abilities and aspirations.  Students will then have the opportunity to discuss their teachers’ recommendations with their families before submitting their course requests electronically.

After students input their requests, the family will receive a course request verification to verify they are in agreement with the courses requested. Toward the end of the school year, each student will be provided with a list of scheduled courses. Final requests for changes to scheduled courses must be submitted in writing from the student’s parent/guardian by June 30th. Please note a change is much more likely to occur while the schedules are still being developed during the school year. Once the schedules are developed and locked into the Master Schedule, it is unlikely a change request will be fulfilled. FOR THIS REASON, PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR SELECTIONS WISELY DURING THE COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS IN FEBRUARY.
