Internet Option Resources

Internet Options Resource Page

As our world continually evolves into a digitized global society, our need for connectivity continues to develop and expand. We can sometimes find ourselves without WiFi service and in need of some alternate solutions. We have curated various resources to find public WiFi, open hours of access in our schools, vendor options for Internet and cell plans etc. Please take some time to browse our resources. We will continue to add information as it becomes available to us

Public WiFi

There are several public places and businesses in which you may obtain free public wireless access.

Before and After School Hours Access

In case a student needs to stay connected before or after school hours, some of our schools have extended hours. School library WiFi availability hours are:

Emmaus High School Library: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Eyer Middle School Library: Monday – Friday 7:35 AM – 3:00 PM
Lower Macungie Middle School Library: Monday – Friday 7:15 – 3:00 PM. Some Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:00 PM (see librarian)

Converting A Phone to a Hotspot

If you find yourself in an area with limited or no WiFi available, you may tether a Chromebook to the cell phone by converting it to a hotspot. We recommend using this feature if you have an unlimited data plan, as the Chromebook will use your phone plan minutes during operation. For directions on how to tether a Chromebook to a phone visit our instruction web page here (Internet Options: Hotspots)

Internet & Cell Service Programs

There are various organizations that offer programs for Internet and cell service for those families who qualify. We encourage you to investigate the options with the program providers listed on our programs web page here (Internet Options: Programs)
