EHS 8th Grade Family Welcome Night Reminder

Reminder for 8th-grade families! The EHS Counseling will host Guidance Information Night on Wednesday, January 15th, from 6–8 PM at Emmaus High School. This event supports the middle-to-high school transition. More details in the Eyer Weekly Updates.

2025 Yearbook Cover Design Contest

Calling all Eyer artists! The Yearbook Cover Design Contest is back! Create your vision for the 2025 Eyer Yearbook using any medium. Designs must fit an 8.5×11 page and include your full name. Multiple entries are welcome! Submit your final designs to the Counseling Office by Thursday, February 13th. Let your creativity shine!

6th Grade EyeTV Applications

6th Grade Students who are interested in joining the EyeTV Crew must submit a completed EyeTV 6th Grade Application to Mr. Davis in Room 310 just past the Eyer Auditorium. As part of the EyeTV Crew, students will help create, produce, and film the Eyer Daily Announcements, which stream each morning on the EyeTV YouTube Channel. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to be part of the action!

Spring Musical Stage Crew

Eyer students interested in joining the Frozen Jr. Stage Crew to support this year’s Spring Musical should submit a completed Stage Crew Application to Mr. Davis in Room 310 just past the Eyer Auditorium. Stage Crew members play a vital role in the production, assisting with tasks such as stage construction, painting, moving set pieces during the show, and supporting overall production needs. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the magic behind the scenes!

Eyer Girls on the Run Program

Registration for the spring season of Girls on the Run (GOTR) is now open! This program empowers young female participants to build confidence, celebrate their strengths, and improve fitness while training for a 5K at DeSales University on Sunday, May 5th. Space is limited to 15 participants, and spots fill quickly, so don’t wait to register! For more details, including how to sign up, please refer to the GOTR Flyer. EPSD Middle Level Spring Athletics Sign Ups

Sign-ups are now open for EPSD Spring Athletics! Any 7th or 8th-grade student interested in participating can register by completing the EPSD Spring Athletics Registration Form available on the Spring Athletics page of the EPSD Spring Athletics Webpage. EPSD has significantly expanded athletic opportunities for middle-level students, now offering Co-Ed Track and Field, Girls Softball, Boys Volleyball, Girls Club Lacrosse, and Boys Club Lacrosse. We encourage families to explore these exciting opportunities with their students and complete the 2024-2025 Spring Sports Sign-Ups before the February 3rd registration deadline.   

January PAWS Pretzel Day

The January PAWS Pretzel Day will take place on Thursday, January 23rd. Students can purchase a soft pretzel for $1 during 9th Period. Proceeds from PAWS Pretzel Days help fund the PAWS School-Wide Positive Behavior Support incentives throughout the year.

January PAWS Cookie Day

The January PAWS Cookie Day will be held on Friday, January 31st. Students who are sporting the school colors will be rewarded with a cookie of their choice during lunch.

Free Boys Lacrosse Clinic for Beginners

LMYA is hosting a FREE Boys Lacrosse Clinic for Beginners on Sunday, January 12th, at 10:00 AM at St. Luke’s Sportsplex (4636 Crackersport Road, Allentown, PA). Open to all boys in Kindergarten through 6th grade (7th/8th graders can email lacrosse@lmya.org), participants will learn the basics of lacrosse in a fun, supportive environment. No experience is needed, and equipment will be provided if necessary. All East Penn School District students are eligible. Bring athletic wear, sneakers, and a water bottle. Interested families can sign up via the link on the Eyer Daily Announcements website.

Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups

Junior High Baseball Sign-Ups are now open! Any 8th grade baseball player in the East Penn School District is eligible to try out for the Emmaus/Lower Macungie Junior High Baseball Team in Spring 2025. Additional details have been shared to parents in the weekend update.

EPSD January Calendar Update

As a reminder, the East Penn School District will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. 

Clubs:

  • There will be no more Crochet Club meetings.
  • Youth for Christ Club– This student-led club will include Bible studies, games, charity activities, and fellowship. Interested students can sign up in the main office.
  • Yearbook Club will be meeting on Thursday, January 9th after school in the Learning Lab. We will be working on layout and learning how to use Pixami. Please be sure to have your chromebook charged and with you for this meeting. This is not a mandatory meeting and is for those more interested in the layout than the photos. Let Mrs. Eustice know if you will be attending.  Thank you!
  • Homework Club– Get the help you need, improve your grades, stay organized and finish assignments in a focused, quiet environment. For additional information, see Mrs. Cosme in Guidance.
  • Book Club – Would you like to meet with like-minded people to share your favorite and recent reads? Then join Eyer’s Book Club. Please e-mail Mrs. Szep at lszep@eastpennsd.org to sign up!
  • Mathcounts is a competitive math team that meets once a week after school; if you’re interested, visit Room 507 or email Mrs. Hummel.
  • Table Top Club: Eyer’s Tabletop Club meets every Tuesday, interested students should see Mr. Davis in the music room (room 310) to sign up.
  • Walking Club will continue every Tuesday and Thursday, weathering permitted. Please make sure to sign up for the late bus or make arrangements to get picked up by 4 pm
