Family Engagements

Dear Emmaus High School Families,
We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Family Engagement Series, a program designed to strengthen the collaboration between our school, families, and the community. Your active involvement and support are critical to enhancing student achievement and ensuring regular school attendance. By working together, we can create a nurturing environment that promotes success for all students.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2024 from 5:45 pm to 8:00 pm. The starting Location is the LIBRARY

Why Your Participation Matters

Research has shown that when parent and community involvement is directly linked to student learning, it has a greater impact on achievement than more general forms of involvement. By participating in this series, you will help reinforce the academic, behavioral, and attendance expectations that are key to your child’s success.

Family Engagement Series Overview

We are excited to offer a series of 3 evenings with multiple workshops each night designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge to better support your student’s education at Emmaus High School. Our first evening on Wednesday, September 18th, will cover the topics listed below:

This session will provide strategies and tips for supporting your child with their homework, particularly in math, English, and world languages.

Learn how to navigate Schoology and PowerSchool to monitor your child’s academic progress,
attendance, and more.

Help your child develop essential skills such as time management, organization, and resilience to
succeed in both academics and life.

Discover the benefits of extracurricular involvement and how to encourage your child to participate in school athletics and activities.

Additional Event Features

Teacher Tutoring and Parent-Teacher Connections:

Math, English, and Special Education Teachers not presenting during the sessions will be available for tutoring or informal conversations about your child’s learning experience in the classes. High School students are encouraged to bring work and questions for their Math, English, and Special Education teachers. These teachers will also be available for parent-teacher conversations allowing families to discuss their child’s progress.

Babysitting Services:

To make it easier for families to attend and to reduce potential barriers, babysitting for younger siblings will be provided by EHS student groups.

Food:

Enjoy light refreshments as we work together to support our students’ success.

We believe that your involvement in these sessions will make a significant difference in your child’s educational experience. We are committed to working together to ensure the success of every student at Emmaus High School. We look forward to seeing you there and collaborating for the success of our students!
