Late Bus

The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4.  You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention. You must sign up in the Main office on the day of the late bus by 10:30am.

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

Parking

There have been issues with faculty/student parking, please make sure to park in your assigned numbered spot. If there is another car parked in your spot, please take a picture of the license plate.   Send the picture to Gina Jones at gjones@eastpennsd.org then park your car in the parallel spots next to the sidewalk in Lot J by the Auditorium.

School Store

The School Store will be open during Hornet Homeroom everyday (10:18 – 10:55).  Students that come, need to have a signed pass from the homeroom teacher.

SGA – Enchanted Garden Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the EHS stadium from 6-9pm.  The doors will open at 5:30pm.  Students will need to have their school issued ID in order to enter the dance.  There are to be no heels on the turf.  Space at EHS is very limited and no guests will be permitted.  This event is for EHS students only.  In the case of rain, the dance will be rescheduled to a rain date.

Tickets are limited.  Due to limited space, upperclassmen will have priority for ticket sales. Tickets will be sold during lunches – $15 cash or check made payable to EHS.

  • LCTI students, Homeschooled students (who reside within EPSD), Cyber (who reside within EPSD) and Vespa students may purchase their tickets in the Main office (7am to 3:15 daily)

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in the military should take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), as well as any other students interested in finding out more about potential careers for them. The test will be administered on October 19, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. in Caf 1.  Please use the ASVAB Registration Form if you are interested in signing up for the ASVAB test.  The registration needs to be completed by October 13th.  If you have any questions, you can reach out to your Counselor or Mrs. Wood.  For detailed information on the ASVAB visit: https://www.officialasvab.com/.

PSAT’s – 10th Grade

Emmaus High School is thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity for all of our 10th-grade students. Through a generous donation from our EPSD Education Foundation, all 10th-grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, completely free of charge. This practice SAT exam will be administered during the school day at EHS. Please check your Class of 2026 Schoology Group for more information.

3 Hour Delay – October 11th

  ** 3 Hour Delay on October 11, 2023 **   Due to the PSATs being administered on Wednesday, October 11th, students who are not testing are permitted to arrive at school on a 3 hour delayed schedule if they can provide their own transportation.  Students without their own transportation are still able to take their normal bus to school at the regular time and will be supervised in a study hall for the duration of the 3 hour delay.

Athletics

  • East Penn School District will now be offering a Girls Wrestling program to middle school and high school girls. The season will begin November 17, 2023. If you are interested there is a parent/student meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 6:30 PM at the Hive.  You can also email emmausgirlswrestling@gmail.com with any questions.

Clubs

  • Want to work on PSAT/SAT prep?  The SAT prep club has started and is meeting on Fridays during Hornet HR in the Black Box.  Please join our Schoology group using code: QPVB-R6P5-VTM9B for registration, information on how to get a pass to attend and more SAT prep information.  If you have any questions, reach out to Mrs Kinzel in room 224.
  • The EHS Activism Club meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month in Mrs. Kinzel’s room, 224. This club focuses on involving the student body within the local community, as well as having a unique Day of Action centered around one major social issue– all while keeping a neutral perspective. We hope to see you there!
  • Model U.N. will hold its next meeting after school on Wednesday, October 11th in room 017.   We will be finalizing our plans for the homecoming tailgate.  New members are always welcome.  See Madame Kalb or Herr Bis with any questions.

  • The Young Republicans Club will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 18th from 2:30-3:30 PM in room 310. All are welcome! For more information, please see Mrs. Smeltz in room 319, or join our Schoology group (access code V7KF-3XNJ-J65F7). 

Come have a cupcake and register to vote! The Young Republicans Club will hold a voter registration drive during the Homecoming tailgate! If you are 18, or will turn 18 by October 23rd, then you are eligible to vote in the general election to be held on November 7th, 2023. For those who turn 18 between October 24th and December 31st, we can register you to vote in the Presidential primary to be held in the spring. To register, please bring your drivers license or memorize the last four digits of your social security number. See you there!

  • Earth Watch Club will be meeting after school on Wednesday 10/11 at 2:30 in room 138. We will finalize our ideas for the tailgate. If you did not sign-up for a snack or time to attend the tailgate please do so in schoology as soon as possible. 
  • Are you interested in pursuing a career in the medical field? Club Med will be having its first meeting on Wednesday, October 11th, at 2:45 in room 140. Hope to see you there! 
  • Join us for the first meeting for a new club here at Emmaus – The Bible Study Club! We will be meeting Tuesdays from 6:45 – 7:15 in Room 254. Come spend some time with us learning scripture and fellowshipping with other students! You can enter through the door right by the Counseling suite at 6:45. Hope to see you there!   • No Place for Hate will hold a virtual kick off celebration with Jonathan Van Ness, Emmy nominated television personality and LGBTQ+ advocate from the Netflix series Queer Eye.  Any student interested in participating on Oct.12 from 12-12:30, should contact Ms. Larkin or stop by room 309 to register.  Refreshments will be served!
  • The Interact Club will continue to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.   Please drop off at Mrs. Kaunitz’s room, 216. Thanks! 
  • The Steel Hornets robotics team has started meetings.  If you are interested in

participating, stop into room 123 after school any afternoon except Fridays.

  • Open gym for freshman boys will run on Wednesdays from 2:45pm-4:30pm.  Please wait in the lobby of the main gym until it is time to begin. Reach out to Coach Hoderewski in Room 323 or email him with any questions.
