Late Bus

The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4.  You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention.

Students will use a Google form to sign up for the late bus which will be posted here on the website and also in Schoology under the Materials section.  The form will only accept responses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:23am until the 10:30am deadline**   Late Bus Sign Up

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

** Thursdays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY  AT 2-2:25PM **

Parking

There have been issues with faculty/student parking, please make sure to park in your assigned numbered spot. If there is another car parked in your spot, please take a picture of the license plate.   Send the picture to Gina Jones at gjones@eastpennsd.org then park your car in the parallel spots next to the sidewalk in Lot J by the Auditorium.

Shave for the Brave T-shirt Sales

Shave for the Brave Shirts will be for sale at all lunches and Mrs. Kaunitz’s room 216 starting this week for $12 cash.  Thanks! 

Art Show T Shirt Order

Orders for the annual art show tee shirt are live! You can see the linked order form for an image of our blooming art-cade themed design, which will be printed on a black soft style tee.  See one of the art teachers to fill out a form, or print the one linked below. You can also order online! Tee shirts are ONLY $16. Money and forms are due April 21st.

College Fair

EHS Counseling proudly presents the College Fair on Thursday, April 25th from 6-8pm. There will be over 100 College, Career & Technical & Military Representatives in our Main gym and Aux Gym. There is a flyer in the Main Office to scan the QR code to see the list of representatives. We hope to see you there.

College Visit

A representative from Penn State University will be at EHS on the following dates:

DeSales Free Course

Juniors, are you interested in taking a free course at DeSales University in the fall? 

DeSales High School Scholars is a competitive program that allows two students from EHS to take a free college course at DeSales.  Please contact Mrs. Greene in the counseling office for more details and an application.  Application materials, including a letter of recommendation, are due Tuesday April 30 at 3:00 pm.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Operation Giggles

Operation Giggles is ON! During the month of April, the Interact Club will be collecting NEW toys and craft kits for children (ages 1-18yrs) at the Lehigh Valley Hospital.  The collection will run through the month of April.  Items can be dropped off outside Mrs. Kaunitz’s room, 216. Thank you for your support! 

Keystone Testing and Late Start Information for EHS

May 13th and 14th  – Literature
May 16th and 17th – Algebra 1
May 21 and 22 – Biology
 
Keystone Exams will be held at EHS on the dates listed below.  Students will receive a personalized letter informing them of which test they are scheduled to take as well as their room assignments on specific dates.  Students who are not testing will arrive at school on a 3 HOUR delayed schedule on testing dates.   Letters will be mailed home with information for all students.

SAT Testing

All SAT tests are now digital!  You MUST have your Chromebook with the BlueBook app installed and up to date with you on testing day to sit for the SAT.  There will be no loaner Chromebooks available on test days.  It is imperative that you follow the directions that you have received from the College Board so that you are prepared when you arrive for the SATs.  The next testing date for the SATs here at EHS is May 4th

Finals    

SENIORS –  May 30& 31      UNDERCLASSMAN – June 3 & 4

Students who have 4 exams in one day can move one exam to the mornings of the half days in Learning Lab or afternoons on the half days.  Students must make arrangements with their teachers to determine the best time and location for the make-up exam.

Altered schedule – no HR, longer classes for exams, lunch schedule followed (see below)

Phones will  be collected until all students finish their exams.  Phones may not leave the classroom during exams (no phones in bathrooms).

Students who do not have exams or are exempt, still must attend classes.   Attendance will be taken.

 NO OPEN CAMPUS – ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED

Pre-approved absences- students must work with their teachers to arrange a time for the exams. This can be earlier than the exam days, during make-up days,  or over the summer.

Absence notes must be provided within 24 hours of the missed exam in order to be  eligible to take make up exams  (written note or texts / emails from parents via Safe Arrival are permitted)

Summer Learning Academy    (Remediation, Grade Improvement & Acceleration)

Registration and Deadline to Register:

Monday, April 15th, 2024 – June 13th, 2024 at 2pm

  • ​All course offerings are subject to change due to the enrollment numbers and teacher availability for individual courses. It is within the Summer School Principal’s discretion to drop, add, or condense courses based on enrollment figures. Courses will be offered in the following manner:

Acceleration â€“ A course that serves as a prerequisite to prepare students for the subsequent sequential course. These classes will be delivered via online learning. Students must pass the course, and score an 80% or higher on the midterm and final exams to earn credit. Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry will be offered for acceleration. These math courses meet NCAA Clearinghouse Regulations; you must select the NCAA course on the registration form if needed.

Accelerated Graduation Requirement Courses â€“ A one-half or one-quarter credit course that is a graduation requirement or elective course counting toward the student’s required 21 credits and does not fit readily into the student’s schedule during the regular academic year. Driver’s Ed: Keys to Driving will be offered via online learning through Schoology. *Aquatics requires a time commitment of 90 minutes per day for three weeks, (Monday- Thursday). Well-Fit requires a time commitment of 2-hours a day for three weeks.

Remediation â€“ A course being taken to improve a failing grade from a course taken during the regular academic year and earn the missing requirement (No Credit Earned). The student will be taking it to attain a passing grade. Remediation for core classes will be delivered via in-person learning. Students will be required to attend in person 2 hours and 10 minutes a day for three weeks, (Monday- Thursday).

On-Line Accelerated Courses: Health A/B $150.00

NCAA Accredited Acceleration Courses: $660.00
