Late Bus

The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4.  You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention. You must sign up in the Main office on the day of the late bus by 10:30am.

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

SGA – Enchanted Garden Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the EHS stadium from 6-9pm.  The doors will open at 5:30pm.  Students will need to have their school issued ID in order to enter the dance.  There are to be no heels on the turf.  Space at EHS is very limited and no guests will be permitted.  This event is for EHS students only.  In the case of rain, the dance will be held in the gyms. 

Tickets are limited.  Due to limited space, upperclassmen will have priority for ticket sales. Tickets will be sold during lunches – $15 cash or check made payable to EHS.

                    Juniors on 10/2

                    Sophmores on 10/3

                   Freshman on 10/4

  • LCTI students, homeschooled students and Vespa students may purchase their tickets in the Main office (7am to 3:15 daily)

East Stroudsburg Visit

Any 11th and 12th grade student interested in visiting East Stroudsburg University on November 1 should pick up a permission form in the counseling office.  On the trip, students will learn about the college admissions process, tour the campus, and meet faculty and students.  Interested 12th grade students will have the opportunity to have their application reviewed for Instant Decision.  Permission forms are due by September 29.

Financial Aid and FAFSA Application Information for Families

On Wednesday, September 20th, the EHS Counseling Department hosted its annual Financial Aid Night.  During this program, our region’s Higher Education Access Partner from PHEAA, Michael Burke, presented all of the new application information. He provided us with a detailed PowerPoint presentation that can be found here:

In our second session of the night, families had the opportunity to attend a live demonstration Introduction to Naviance for families of 9th and 10th grade students or a Naviance presentation for parents of 11th and 12th grade students on the college and career research tools in Naviance and the college application process for EHS. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in the military should take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), as well as any other students interested in finding out more about potential careers for them. The test will be administered on October 19, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. in Caf 1.  Please use the ASVAB Registration Form if you are interested in signing up for the ASVAB test.  The registration needs to be completed by October 13th.  If you have any questions, you can reach out to your Counselor or Mrs. Wood.  For detailed information on the ASVAB visit: https://www.officialasvab.com/.

PSAT’s – 10th Grade

Emmaus High School is thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity for all of our 10th-grade students. Through a generous donation from our EPSD Education Foundation, all 10th-grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, completely free of charge. This practice SAT exam will be administered during the school day at EHS. Please check your Class of 2026 Schoology Group for more information.

3 Hour Delay – October 11th

** 3 Hour Delay on October 11, 2023 **   Due to the PSATs being administered on Wednesday, October 11th, students who are not testing are permitted to arrive at school on a 3 hour delayed schedule if they can provide their own transportation.  Students without their own transportation are still able to take their normal bus to school at the regular time and will be supervised in a study hall for the duration of the 3 hour delay.

Athletics

  • Individual Football Home Game Tickets are being sold electronically this year. Adults are $5 for game, Students/Senior Citizens are $3 game. They can be purchased at the link on our Athletics/Activities webpage at GoFan.co or using the QR code on the signs posted around the building. Stop by the Athletic Dept with any questions. GO HORNETS!

Clubs

  • The Debate Team will be holding a meeting this Thursday 9/28, after school in Room 116 from 2:30 to 3:30pm.New members are welcome to join! There will be a second meeting Friday 9/29, during Homeroom for those who are available to attend. Email Mr. Maskornick for a pass to the Library.
  • The next FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) meeting will be held after school on Tuesday October 3rd in Room 240. Please check our Schoology page for more information (access code 466P-H3R9-2GXPP).  New members are reminded to bring their $25 dues to this meeting in an envelope labeled with their name and grade. 
  • No Place for Hate will hold a virtual kick off celebration with Jonathan Van Ness, Emmy nominated television personality and LGBTQ+ advocate from the Netflix series Queer Eye.  Any student interested in participating on Oct.12 from 12-12:30, should contact Ms. Larkin or stop by room 309 to register.  Refreshments will be served!

All are most welcome to join Global Citizens Club next week as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month: food, fun, new friends, and laughter…maybe even some Latin dancing!

  • For students interested in learning more about the EHS Mock Trial team and program there will be an informational meeting today, Thursday, September 28 in Mr. Brown’s room (212) from 2:35-3:05.  All are welcome to attend!
  • The INTERACT CLUB – All paperwork is due by 10/3.  It is okay if you are involved in other fall activities, but please be sure to return the paperwork if you want to be included in the club for the remainder of the year by 10/3.  Thanks, Mrs. K

  • The Steel Hornets robotics team has started meetings.  If you are interested in

participating, stop into room 123 after school any afternoon except Fridays.

  • Open gym for freshman boys will run on Wednesdays from 2:45pm-4:30pm.  Please wait in the lobby of the main gym until it is time to begin. Reach out to Coach Hoderewski in Room 323 or email him with any questions.
