KU Early College Academy

Thinking about becoming a teacher? Want to make an impact in students’ lives? EHS’s Field Study program in partnership with Kutztown University is offering a unique opportunity for students who plan to major in Education in college to get an early start on their coursework. Through the KU Early College Academy students can take college level Education courses at the university for college credit and receive EHS Field Study credit at the same time. If you are a current sophomore or junior and would like to learn more about this exciting program, please plan to attend an informational meeting in the MMR on Tuesday February 25th during Homeroom. Kutztown representatives will be on hand to review the program and answer questions. You may also contact the Field Study Coordinator, Mrs. Duffy, at kduffy@eastpennsd.org with questions. 

Field Study

Attention current sophomores and juniors: If you are interested in applying for the Field Study program for the 25-26 school year, please plan to attend one of two information sessions that will take place prior to course registration. The sessions will be held during HR in MMR B on Monday 2/10 and Tuesday 2/18. Details about the program and application process will be reviewed. You can also access information on the Field Study website. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Duffy at kduffy@eastpennsd.org. 

School Store

The EHS school store has a lot going this dreary January – all Gray attire is 20% so let’s get cozy in a spirit wear groufit!!  We are also selling Basketball T-shirts for $15 that benefit the team’s booster club. Get a ticket for a free hotdog with purchase. And let’s support our wrestlers this season!  Go to a match, snap a picture as proof and show our workers to get a free candy of your choice. Let’s GO HORNETS!

School Store is open Tuesday through Friday blocks 1-4 and closed during homeroom. Students should visit during Study Halls only and obtain a special pass through their study hall proctors.

Important Counseling Resources – Please Take a Look!

The EHS School Counseling Office’s YouTube channel has many informational videos on topics such as creating a resume, using Naviance, career and college exploration, the college search and application processes, and requesting transcripts, among many other topics.

Book Drive

Book Drive  Interact Club is hosting a Book Drive and collecting new or used books and is donating them to Allentown School District students through LVHN Clinics. Drop books off at Mrs.Kauntiz room; 216. Books for ages K-12 are greatly appreciated! Now through Friday, January 31st.

2025 Graduation

On behalf of the Emmaus High School Administration, it is my honor to invite you to join us as a special guest at the Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony.

This important occasion begins with our faculty and staff leading the graduates in the processional—a meaningful tradition that symbolizes the invaluable role you’ve played in their journey. Your presence not only celebrates the accomplishments of our students but also honors the dedication and contributions of the faculty and staff who have guided them along the way.

Commencement is a time to celebrate academic achievements, uphold our traditions, and recognize the shared impact of education within our community. Each graduate carries a memory of a teacher or staff member who made a lasting difference in their lives, and your attendance reinforces that connection.

To participate in the processional, we will provide gowns for all faculty who need them. Please RSVP using the Google form linked below by February 21, 2025, to indicate if you’ll attend and whether you will bring your own black gown and hood or require one to be supplied.

PEER TUTORING IS NOW AVAILABLE!

If you are interested in meeting with a tutor, please complete the 2024-25 Student Tutoring Request Form.  Once you have submitted the request, please watch for an email from Mrs. Wood with your Tutor’s name.  Once you receive the email with your Tutor’s information, please reach out to them so that you can set up a session with them.  A pass will be placed in your HHR teacher’s mailbox once you set up a session.  If you know a student who is looking for Peer Tutoring, please direct them to their Schoology group or if you would like to refer them to tutoring, you can complete the 2024-25 Parent/Guardian/Teacher Tutoring Request Form.

Late Bus

Sign up online using the Late Bus Google Form in Schoology under the Materials section or on the EHS website under EHS News, there is a link under the Late Bus post. The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of May.

Interact Club

The Interact Club will continue to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please drop off tabs in the container outside of room 216.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity will be selling Celsius drinks ($3) and donuts ($2) Thursday mornings before school in the HIVE

Learning Lab (LLAB)

The LLAB is a full-time academic support room located in the library that provides students with a dedicated space for special accommodation testing, make-up exams, retests and/or academic assistance.  Keri Crawford will coordinate with faculty, staff members and students to schedule time in the LLAB.  Karen Sechler will assist with the administration of tests in the LLAB. 

If you have a student who needs to access the LLAB for testing or academic assistance, please complete the LLAB Test Form, attach the test and place them in the Learning Lab mailbox in the main office or drop it off in the LLAB.  Copies of the test form can be found in the LLAB, the main office and on schoology.  You can also email the completed form and test to Keri at kcrawford@eastpennsd.org.

Once the form and test are received, Keri will contact the student, and an email will be sent to both the teacher and student confirming the date and time the test is scheduled.  Please remind them to check their school email. 

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department will hold Chromebook support for students during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:25 pm outside the library entrance.

** Thursdays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY AT 2-2:25PM **

No Place for Hate

If you are new to the building, No Place for Hate is a school program developed and monitored by the ADL.   On the first Monday of every month, all faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in a casual day and wear a NPFH shirt. Shirts may be purchased in room 309 to participate on the first   ** The dates are:  Monday:   2/3, 3/3, 4/7, 5/8, 6/2
