LCTI

Any 9th or 10th grade student who is interested in learning more about Lehigh Career & Technical Institute (LCTI) should plan to attend the LCTI Tour on November 5th.  Stop by the Counseling Office for more information and to pick up a permission slip.  Completed permission slips are due back to the Counseling Office no later than Friday, September 19th. Feel free to contact Ms. Day Brinker or Mrs. Demchak with any questions.

Theater

The Theater Department will meet this Thursday from 2:30-4:00 in the auditorium.  Join us for food and games to kick off the 25-26 season.

Academic Team

Everybody start studying! Tryouts for the Academic Team are on Monday, Sept. 8th after school in Room 141 for those looking to test their knowledge or wanting to get involved. Please see Mr. Ohl in Room 141 or Herr Bis in Room 266 with any questions.

Principal Advisory Meeting

Welcome again to a new school year!   For those students new to EHS, we would like to invite you and everyone else to participate in our monthly Principal Advisory Meetings.  All are welcome, and the first 40 students to sign up will receive an email pass to attend.  As we explained in our class meetings, we use these meetings to discuss ideas and suggestions to improve our school for everyone. 

This month’s principal advisory meeting will be held on Friday, 9/26, from 10:30 am to 11:30 AM in the MMR.  This is an A Day, and you will miss part of block 3 class and homeroom, so please check your schedule and speak with your teachers.

Principal Advisory Meeting Sign-Up Form

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) – October 15, 2025

Any students in grades 10-12 who are interested in pursuing a career in the military or interested in finding out more about potential careers should take the ASVAB. Please complete the October 2025 ASVAB Test Registration if you are interested in signing up for the ASVAB test.  The registration needs to be completed by October 9th. If you have any questions, you can reach out to your Counselor or Mrs. Wood. 

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding junior and senior high school students. NHS recognizes students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher; however, NHS candidates must also exhibit qualities beyond a grade point average. NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Possible NHS candidates will receive an email invitation to apply and have the opportunity to complete the application process.  Email invites will be sent out on 9/4 and the application due date is 9/19 at 2:25pm.  

Bloomsburg University Tour

Any 11th and 12th grade student who is interested in visiting Bloomsburg University for a College Tour on October 29 should pick up a permission form in the counseling office.  Signed permission forms are due back in the counseling office September 12.  First come, first serve.  

Debate Team

**Attention Students! 
Do you like to argue your point, think on your feet, or sharpen your public speaking skills? Then the Debate Team is for YOU! Our first sign-up meeting is happening this Tuesday after school in Room 220. No experience needed—just bring your energy, curiosity, and a willingness to speak up! Join us and discover how fun and exciting it can be to debate, compete, and make your voice heard. We start competitive debates in a few weeks so please be sure to come to the intro meeting before registration closes.  See you Tuesday in Room 220!

PSAT’s

PSATs will be offered on October 22, 2025 beginning at 11:30am.  This is an early dismissal day, so you would stay after school, eat a quick lunch, and begin the exam by 11:45am. The exam will take approximately 2-½ hours and you will need to provide your own transportation home.  If you would like to sign up for the PSAT, please complete this 2025-26 PSAT Registration Form, which can also be found in your “Class of” Schoology Group, by September 29th; this form must be completed by the student using their EPSD account.  The cost of the PSAT is $18.00.  Payments in the form of cash or check made payable to EHS, should be dropped off to Mrs. Lucchesi-Wood in Room 272.  The PSAT registration deadline is September 29th.

Order your t-shirt for the Black Out football game on September 26th to support Morgan’s Message and to show your school spirit. The deadline for ordering is Wednesday, September 10th.

Travel Opportunity

Informational meetings for the trip to Spain & Portugal will be held on September 30 and October 1 in room 016 at 6:30 PM.  This meeting is only for students who wish to sign up for the trip.  Please use door # 8 by the Auditorium to enter the building.  For more information about the trip, go to Explorica.com and enter the tour ID: Montepeque-6693.  If you’re not able to attend the meetings, please see Mr. Montepeque in room 016 for more information. 

Academic Support for All Students

EHS is offering free after-school help twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Teachers and some students are available to help with homework, studying for exams, or improving the understanding of course material. Teachers will be available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 -3:30 in the EHS library. Students do NOT need to sign up in advance. They just need to come to the library at 2:30 and make sure they have transportation home at 3:30.   If needed, there is a late bus on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15. If students need to utilize the late bus, they must sign up on this form LATE BUS SIGN UPS before 10 am on the day they need to take the bus. We hope our students take advantage of this great opportunity to help them succeed academically at EHS!

Late Bus

The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4.  You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention.

Sign up online using the  Late Bus Sign Up in Schoology under the Materials section or on the EHS website under Morning Announcements, there is a link under the Late Bus post. The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of May.  The form will only accept responses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:23am until the 10:30am deadline**

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department will hold Chromebook support for students during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

** Mondays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY AT 2-2:30PM **

Home Football Game Reminder

Re-entry to the stadium is not permitted. Once you leave the stadium you may not return without paying another entry fee.

Clubs:

SAT Prep

The math club will be offering SAT Prep for all EHS students interested in working on their SAT & PSAT test taking skills.  SAT Prep will be offered every Friday during homeroom in the MMR.  If interested, please join the Schoology group QPVB-R6P5-VTM9B and then register to attend on the schoology group page.

Game Club

The first meeting of Game Club is happening Tuesday, September 9 right after school in the HIVE!

If you’re into video games, card games, board games, or role-playing adventures, this is YOUR place. Bring your favorite game, challenge some new friends, or just come hang out and see what it’s all about.

Think Pink / Pediatric Cancer Clubs

The first meetings of both the Think Pink Club and the Pediatric Cancer Club will be on Wednesday, September 10 after school in the HIVE.

Want to make a difference? These clubs are all about teaming up with other students to raise awareness, support those impacted, and fight back against cancer in creative, meaningful ways.

Both groups will meet in different spots in the HIVE—so swing by, see what they’re all about, and choose where YOU want to make your impact.

Global Citizens Club

Please join us for our first Global Citizens Clubmeetings of the year.

Meet after school in room 13 (by the Hive) with Mrs. Kita on THURSDAY, 9/11 and TUESDAY, 9/23.  Bring yourself and your smile and get ready to make a new friend, learn about a new place and culture, and contribute to a more peaceful and connected world.

Bible Study Club

The first meeting for Bible Study Club will be on Wednesday, September 10th from 6:45-7:10am in Room 254. You can enter through the doors by the counseling doors. We will be electing officers at this meeting so be sure to join us! Schoology Group: 22D5-XNX5-J3Q24

Earth Watch Club

The first Earth Watch Club meeting will be held after school on Tuesday September 16th in room 138. New members are welcome. The Schoology join code is 9JQ5-XG66-525GS.

Interact Club

The Interact Club is a club that works on service projects and volunteering in the community.  The Interact Club will have its first meeting on Tuesday, Sept.9, from 2:30-3:05 in Caf 1.  Any interested students can attend the meeting, complete the Pledge Sheet, and/or stop by Mrs. Kaunitz’s room, 216, with questions.  Thanks! 

The Interact Club will continue to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Tabs can be dropped off outside of 216. 

Chess Club

The first meeting of the EHS Chess Club is Thursday, September 25 in the MMR at 2:30. All students are welcome, especially new players who want to improve their game.

French Club

French Club meet and greet on Thursday 9/12 in room #17 from 2:30 to 3:30. No French necessary. Join our schoology group for more information. QG2N-JN2G-56C5P

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity will be selling donuts for $2 and Celsius for $3 before school in the HIVE Thursday mornings. Bring cash. 

Instant Decision Day

This year, nine colleges/universities are going to be hosting Instant Decision Days at Emmaus High School. This opportunity is for Seniors only! Listed down below are the dates that each college will be on campus, please know that you MUST sign up on the Google form linked below AND apply to the specific college. The Google form will be closed one week before the university visits, so please be mindful about signing up before the deadline.
