Late Bus

  • The late bus will run every Tuesday and Thursday. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4. You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention. You must sign up in the main office on the day of the late bus by 10:30am.

Library

  • There is NO EATING in the Library
  • All students coming to the Library must have an Ehall pass to EHS Library or a yellow paper pass.
  • Reminder – students are only allowed to come down during one study hall block per day, students will be sent back if trying to come into the Library during multiple study hall blocks in the same day.
  • This is a reminder that–on M, T, W and F–students may only be in the library during Hornet Homeroom for quick in-and-out visits (claiming an ID, printing a document, or book renewal/return, for examples). HR teacher passes are fine for such purposes. Staying longer requires a pass from a subject teacher and subject work necessitating library support/resources.
  • No students should be visiting during HH on Thursdays, even if your activity is completed.
  • The library houses three permanent HHs every day and often gets a fourth due to coverage needs. We simply do not have the HH space to accommodate students just hoping to “hang out.”
  • The EHS Library area to the immediate right after entering will be a designated quiet-only spot for students, staff members and teachers. Stress-relieving activities such as adult coloring, sticker books, sudoku, etc. remain available; however, in response to patron feedback, gaming items have been removed to allow for booked classes to operate without noise distraction. Additionally, ehall pass requires that our AA be able to hear students as they identify themselves upon arrival and exit.

Study hall students who wish to socialize should sit elsewhere in the library.

  • Per Mrs. Guarriello, the EHS Library will no longer be available to students after school on Mondays due to faculty meetings being held in the space. The EHS Library continues to be open until 3 PM on Tuesdays through Fridays.

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

Keystone Exams

Many of our students will be taking the upcoming Keystone Exams in Algebra, Biology, and / or Literature.  Students who are scheduled to test or retest will be receiving personalized letters in the mail with important information specific to their testing. The test dates are as follows:

  • Literature – Monday, May 15th and Tuesday, May 16th
  • Algebra -Thursday, May 18th and Friday, May 19th
  • Biology – Tuesday, May 23rd and Wednesday, 24th

In an effort to support the success of our students and in addition to the preparation that is occurring in our classrooms, we wanted to provide some additional resources for students and families to use.   Please take a look at the 3 attached documents and click on the links for valuable information, study hints and practice questions.

Passing the upcoming Keystone Exams is the best way for our students to meet the state graduation requirements through Act 158.   Please encourage your student to study, practice, get a good night’s sleep, and eat breakfast in preparation for the exams.   Students should reach out to their teachers for help and clarification regarding the content of these exams.   Thank you for your cooperation in preparing our students for these very important, state required exams.

Final Exams

Final Exam Schedule: Below is the final exam schedule for the school year.

Only medical excuses are acceptable for students to miss their exam.

Junior Prom

Jr Prom tickets will go on sale from April 17-28.  If you are bringing a guest that is not an EHS student, you will need to complete a guest pass form found on the Class of 2024 schoology course in the Jr Prom folder or found at any AP’s office or room 419/426.  The cost of the tickets will be $50 each.  Tickets will not be sold to any students who have any outstanding obligations to the high school (debt or behavioral/ detentions).  Once students pay or take care of the outstanding obligations, they can then purchase tickets.  Tickets can be purchased with cash or checks made payable to Emmaus High School

Pet Drive for Peaceable Kingdom

The students from room 308 are hoping to help out animals in the Lehigh Valley by holding a pet drive for Peaceable Kingdom in Whitehall, PA.  The drive will run from Monday, March 13th until April 28, 2023.  Boxes for donations can be found in the main office, the hallway by the cafeteria, the lobby by Mr. Fortier’s office, and the auditorium lobby.

Peaceable Kingdom is looking for food, treats, and toys for the animals, and cleaning supplies for the facility.  You can find their 2023 wish list on Peaceable Kingdom’s website or the many posters hanging around EHS.  Every little donation can help animals in need.  Thank you for your support!
