Late Bus

The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus picks up around 3:15pm at door #4.  You may only use the late bus for clubs or detention. You must sign up in the Main office on the day of the late bus by 10:30am.

** Starting Tuesday, January 2nd students will begin using a Google form to sign up for the late bus which will be posted here on the website and also in Schoology.  The form will only accept responses on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the 10:30am deadline**   https://forms.gle/QLhR4SHoefS3FxMH6

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

** Thursdays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY  AT 2-2:25PM **

Parking

There have been issues with faculty/student parking, please make sure to park in your assigned numbered spot. If there is another car parked in your spot, please take a picture of the license plate.   Send the picture to Gina Jones at gjones@eastpennsd.org then park your car in the parallel spots next to the sidewalk in Lot J by the Auditorium.

2nd Annual Art Career Day

Are you interested in learning about careers in Visual Art? Join the Art Department for our Second Annual Art Career Day on December 21st, 2023 in the Café.

If you do not currently have an art class or your art class is on a B day, please chat with your A day teachers to see if you can miss class. Then, fill out this Google Form to get a pass to come and chat with our visiting artist!

FAFSA AND CSS

FAFSA will open on 12/31!! 

Don’t forget to complete the FAFSA for financial support during College. You can find the link on Schoology under College Application Process and then click on Financial Aid Resources. You also want to complete your CSS Profile which is already open! This link you can also find on Schoology. Don’t
forget to check on deadline dates, by checking with all colleges you are planning to apply to.

Class of 2025 Fundraiser

The Class of 2025 is having a Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser. Starting on December 4th and ending on December 11th, we will be selling cake coupons for 6 dollars and gluten free coupons for 7 dollars. Juniors will receive order forms in homeroom, which are due no later than December 12th to Mrs. Ardito (rm. 19) or Mrs. Hess (rm.270). If you don’t receive an order form in homeroom you can pick one up in room 270 or 19. Coupons make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season, so order soon!

Spring Musical Auditions

Auditions for EHS’s Spring musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, will be held on Wednesday, December 13th, Thursday, December 14th, and Monday, December 18th from 2:30-6:00 in the auditorium.  Audition information and materials are available on the Theater Department Schoology Page.  

Keystone Exams

Teachers will notify students that need to take the Keystone Exams.  The morning testing session for each day will run from 7:30 a.m. until the conclusion of Hornet Homeroom at 10:55 a.m. Upon completion of each exam module, students will be able to return to class and resume their normal schedule for the remainder of the day. Keystones are administered in the following subjects: Algebra, Biology and Literature.

Gingerbread House Competition

Habitat for Humanity will be hosting our second annual Gingerbread House Competition on December 15 during hornet homeroom in Cafe 2. Teams of up to 6 people can enter. Cost is $30/team. See flyers around the building or sign up via the link. Deadline to enter is December 7. Space is limited. Make checks payable to Emmaus High School and write Habitat for Humanity on the memo line.

Gingerbread house competition rules: You will only be using the provided icing to assemble the house. Hot glue guns are not permitted. Nothing should be made before the competition. You will be given a house to assemble and some items to decorate at the event. You may bring along other items to decorate YOUR gingerbread house, but everything must be edible. Do not take items from other groups. All gingerbread houses will be built at the competition in the cafe. Each group will have one of their members transport their house to the display case at the end of the event to be judged in the following categories: Most Creative, Most Festive, Most Complex.

School Store

The School Store will be open during Hornet Homeroom everyday (10:18 – 10:55).  Students that come, need to have a signed pass from the homeroom teacher.

Clubs

  • Attn: Interact- Candy Challenge – guess the number of Hershey Kisses in the jar.  Stop by my room any time this week to check out the jar and guess.  Fill out the form and the number closest without going over wins the kisses.  Candy guessing going until 12/13 during HR. 
  • Attention Interact: our FULL club meetings for the second half of the year will be Tues 2/6, Tues 3/5, Tues 4/2, Tues 5/7, Tues 6/4 (last meeting with ice cream or Kona).  All meetings will take place in the caf from 2:30-approx 3:10. Any questions, please see Mrs. Kaunitz. Thank you! 
  • The Young Republicans Club will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Our next meeting is Wednesday, December 6th from 2:30-3:30 PM in room 310. All are welcome! For more information, please see Mrs. Smeltz in room 319, or join our Schoology group (access code V7KF-3XNJ-J65F7). 
  • Need a wreath to decorate your door for the holidays? Habitat for Humanity is selling wreaths through December 7. They ship right to your home or to whomever you would like to gift them to. Go to Giftitforward.com and choose your gifts, enter the fundraising code EMMAUSPA002 (they are zeros), choose any club member or Maria Russo, and the gifts will be shipped directly to the recipient (within the 48 contiguous states). All proceeds help build homes locally with Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley.
  • The EHS Choral and Interact Club are partnering again this year for a Night at the Phantoms on Jan. 12!  EHS Choral will be performing on the ice.  Tickets are $20 and if you purchase a ticket before Jan. 5, you will be entered into a drawing to win a ride on the Fanboni!  $5 from each ticket purchased will go to EHS Choral and the Interact Club.  Please consider joining us and spreading the word:)  Ticket linkhttps://fevo-enterprise.com/event/Phantomsvs261

  • The next meeting for the Classical Dance Club will be on 12/13 after school in Café 2 from 2:30-3:30.  Wear athletic attire and come ready to explore different dance styles.  Don’t forget your dance shoes!  Join the Schoology Group using code 8FM2-RHSC-9H7QQ.  
  • National Art Honor Society will be hosting a Scholastic Art Award Submission workshop to help you submit your work! Practiced NAHS students will be assisting in the process of photographing, naming, and submitting your work.

The workshop is scheduled for December 18th at 2:30 in room 217. Please talk to your art teacher to learn how to sign up.

  • Art Mart is officially open just in time for gifting season! If you need to purchase handmade gifts or something special for yourself get a pass from your homeroom teacher to check out the selection. Art Mart is located between rooms 219 and 221.
  • Habitat for Humanity will be selling donuts for $2 before school in the HIVE Thursday mornings. 
  • The Bible Study Club will be meeting Tuesdays from 6:45 – 7:15 in Room 254. Come spend some time with us learning scripture and fellowshipping with other students! You can enter through the door right by the Counseling suite at 6:45. Hope to see you there! Join the Bible Study Club Schoology group for more information: 22D5-XNX5-J3Q24. 
  • The Interact Club will continue to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.   Please drop off at Mrs. Kaunitz’s room, 216.
