SAT – Saturday, October 5th
Here is some information regarding the SAT:
- Bluebook is the App that is used for the SAT which is already installed on the Chromebook. It is accessed from the home screen, (before sign in), by clicking on the Apps button in the lower left-hand corner.
- Enter through Door number 3.
- Doors open at 7:30am and testing begins at 8:00am.
- The College Board website has a lot of useful information for students preparing for the SAT.
Adjusted Schedule on October 15, 2024 due to PSAT Testing at EHS
EHS is pleased to be able to offer PSAT testing during the school day for students who have already registered for the test. Due to the number of students testing, the school will run on a 3-hour delayed schedule on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
College Visits to Counseling
The following college visits are scheduled in the counseling office. Juniors and seniors who wish to attend one of the visits should sign up through Naviance.

Peer Tutoring
If you are interested in meeting with a tutor, please complete the 2024-25 Student Tutoring Request Form. Peer Tutoring will be offered during HHR on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Library. Please visit your “Class of” Schoology Group for more information.
Student Travel Opportunity
Would you like to visit the Panama Canal and a sloth sanctuary? Or kayak next to a volcano in Costa Rica, zip line through a rainforest and go whitewater rafting? There will be an informational meeting on October 7 at 6:00 PM in room 270 for any students, parents or faculty interested in traveling to Panama and Costa Rica in June 2025. Homecoming Tailgate
Tailgate will be held on Friday, October 4th from 2:30-4:30 on the basketball courts. This is a free event for EHS students only.
HoCo Dance
Tickets are on sale for $15 during lunches. The dance will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 6-9 in the EHS gym. Doors open at 5:30. Don’t forget to bring your id. EHS students only. If you aren’t in school during lunches, head to the main office. Last day of sales is 10/3.
School Store
The EHS School Store is open during HHR and closed Thursdays. Stop by and get Hornet merch and game themed merchandise. This Saturday is BLACKOUT- we have BLACKOUT shirts for $10! Stop by today! Cash or check only.
Summer Travel Opportunity
Are you interested in traveling to Spain and Portugal in the summer of 2026? The first informational meeting will be on 10/2/24 at 6:00 PM in room 016 (Mr. Montepeque). The second meeting will take place on 10/10/24 at the same time and place. Please use door # 7 or 8 by the auditorium to enter the building. Instant Decision Day
Hello Seniors, This fall, Emmaus is hosting multiple universities for an Instant Decision Day. An Instant Decision Day, also known as an On-Site Decision Day, is an event where students are able to receive an immediate admissions decision from a college or university. Instant decisions are non-binding, you are still able to apply to other colleges to look at different options! If you are interested in attending one of these events, please click the link on the college or university that you would like to sign up for. You MUST complete the google form that is linked below to the universities as well as submit an application to the university itself. Once you have signed up for one or multiple Instant Decision Days you will receive an email confirmation and more information will be emailed to you as the event date approaches. East Penn Therapy Dog Program
The East Penn Therapy Dog Program will again be partnering with the Phantoms on Oct. 12! This is opening night for the Phantoms; tickets are $22 and $5 from each ticket purchased will go towards the Therapy Dog Program. Branch, Mario, and Tokyo will be at the game. ASVAB
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test will be administered on the morning of October 10, 2024. The 2024-25 ASVAB Test Registration form must be completed by October 4th to be able to sit for the ASVAB. The ASVAB registration form, as well as additional information on the ASVAB can be found in your “Class of” Schoology Group
After School Homework Help
EHS is offering free after-school help twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 2024). Teachers will be available to help with homework, studying for exams, or improving the understanding of course material. Taking advantage of this resource can make a significant difference in academic performance and overall confidence at school.
Teachers will be available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 -3:30 in the EHS library. They are happy and excited to help students succeed in their classes for the remainder of the school year. Students do NOT need to sign up in advance. They just need to come to the library at 2:30 and make sure they have transportation home at 3:30.
Late Bus
Sign up online using the Late Bus Google Form in Schoology under the Materials section or on the EHS website under Morning Announcements, there is a link under the Late Bus post. The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of May.
Chromebook / IT Help
The IT department will hold Chromebook support for students during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:25 pm outside the library entrance.
** Thursdays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY AT 2-2:25PM **
Clubs
- Club Med: You’re invited to join Club Med. Meetings will be held the first and third Tuesday of the month in room 140 after school.
- The next GSA meeting will be after school in room 234 on Thursday 10/3. All are welcome!
- Please join us for our October Global Citizens meetings! Thursdays, October 3,17 and 31 after school in room 013 by the locker commons. Make a new friend, learn something new, expand your sense of belonging.
- Are you interested in improving the environment? Join Earth Watch Club! New members are always welcome! Next meeting will be Wednesday, October 2nd in room 138. Snacks will be provided!
- The Bible Study Club meets every Tuesday morning from 6:45am to 7:15am in room 254. You can enter through the doors by the counseling suite and head to Room 254. We will have Bibles and breakfast snacks available. We hope to see you there! Bible Study Club Schoology Code: 22D5-XNX5-J3Q24
- Habitat for Humanity will be selling Celsius drinks and donuts Thursday mornings before school in the HIVE.
