Electronic Device Policy

  • Cell phones, earbuds, smart watches, etc. must be turned off, out of sight in desk pouches, or in cell phone caddies provided in classrooms and the Learning Lab.  Students can bring their own pouches if they prefer.  Ideally, phones should be in Airplane mode to not distract others.
  • Cell phones, earbuds, smart watches, etc. may not be taken to the bathrooms. Pouches with the electronic devices inside should be placed on the teacher’s desk while the student is out of the room.
  • Cell phones, earbuds, smart watches, etc. may be used during lunch, homeroom (except for during Hornet Huddle lessons) and study halls.
  • During lunch, homeroom (except Thursdays during Hornet Huddle) and study halls, music can only be played through earbuds or headphones.
  • Students are welcome to use their phones, earbuds and smart watches until the bell rings for the start of class.  Once the class begins, all students are to place  their phones on their  desk pouches, or in cell phone caddies provided in classrooms.  The pouch must be sealed and remain on the student’s desk and cell phones may not be accessed for the remainder of the class.
  • Students may not take cell phones to the bathrooms regardless of the class they are leaving.

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department  will hold  Chromebook support for students  during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:30 pm outside the library entrance.

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in the military should take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), as well as any other students interested in finding out more about potential careers for them. The test will be administered on October 19, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. in Caf 1.  Please use the ASVAB Registration Form if you are interested in signing up for the ASVAB test.  The registration needs to be completed by October 13th.  If you have any questions, you can reach out to your Counselor or Mrs. Wood.  For detailed information on the ASVAB visit: https://www.officialasvab.com/.

PSAT’s – 10th Grade

Emmaus High School is thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity for all of our 10th-grade students. Through a generous donation from our EPSD Education Foundation, all 10th-grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, completely free of charge. This practice SAT exam will be administered during the school day at EHS. Please check your Class of 2026 Schoology Group for more information.

PSATs – 11th Grade

Emmaus High School is thrilled to announce a wonderful opportunity for all of our 11th-grade students! Students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, during the school day at EHS for only $18. Please check your Class of 2025 Schoology Group for more information, including the PSAT Registration Form, which is due by September 7th.

  ** 3 Hour Delay on October 11, 2023 **   Due to the PSATs being administered on Wednesday, October 11th, students who are not testing are permitted to arrive at school on a 3 hour delayed schedule if they can provide their own transportation.  Students without their own transportation are still able to take their normal bus to school at the regular time and will be supervised in a study hall for the duration of the 3 hour delay.

Athletics

  • Individual Football Home Game Tickets are being sold electronically this year. Adults are $5 for game, Students/Senior Citizens are $3 game. They can be purchased at the link on our Athletics/Activities webpage at GoFan.co or using the QR code on the signs posted around the building. Stop by the Athletic Dept with any questions. GO HORNETS!

Clubs

  • Model U.N. will hold its first meeting after school on Wednesday in room 017.   We discuss world issues and try to come up with possible solutions.  New members are always welcome.  See Madame Kalb or Herr Bis with any questions.
  • Wednesday 9/13

Collage club will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at 2:30 in Room 307. All are welcome. 

  • Wednesday September 13 — Thursday September 21

All National Honor Society applications and teacher recommendations are due by Friday, September 22, at the close of the school day. No late applications or recommendations will be accepted. Teacher recommendation forms may be picked up at Room 307 or in the Main Office.

  • The GRATITUDE CLUB will be meeting Thursday, September 14th  right after school in room 118. All are welcome! We will be gathering ideas and planning for how to express our gratitude throughout Emmaus High School and the community. Meeting will end at 3:10. 
  • Join us for our first meeting of EHS’ Global Citizens Club.

  • The Theater Department will meet this Thursday, September 14, from 2:30-3:15 in the auditorium.  Join us if you are interested in getting involved in theater here at EHS!
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 19, there will be an informational meeting for students interested in traveling to Spain in June of 2024. The meeting will take place in Room 270 at 6 PM. Students who have already signed up for the trip need not attend this meeting. Please see Señora Hess or Señora Ardito for information if you are unable to attend the meeting.
  • The AEVIDUM club will have its first meeting Wednesday, September 20th during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 11:00) in the Auditorium balcony.  If you have any questions please email Mrs. Williams abwilliams@eastpennsd.org
  • In June 2024 there will be a trip to London, France and the Italian Riviera.  Any student interested in joining us on the trip should plan to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:30 PM in room 016 with a parent or guardian. Please enter through the doors by the Hive.  If you cannot attend the meeting on Wednesday, 20th, please see Mr. Montepeque or Mrs. Fraser in rooms 015-016.
  • Ski and Ride Club will have our first meeting on Thursday Sept 21 at 2:30PM in room 100.

Winter trip info to Blue Mountain will be handed out.

              Friday, September 22

  • The first meeting of the ACSL/Computer Club will be held Thursday September 21 from 2:30—3:15 in room 248.  Please reach out to Mrs. Stoudt in room 248 or Mrs. Brashear in room 246 or via email if you have any questions.  We hope to see you there!

  • The INTERACT CLUB – All paperwork is due by 10/3.  It is okay if you are involved in other fall activities, but please be sure to return the paperwork if you want to be included in the club for the remainder of the year by 10/3.  Thanks, Mrs. K
