Mrs. Beth Guarriello

Emmaus High School Principal

Mrs. Beth Guarriello has been a proud educator in some form for the last 35 years. She comes from a family of educators and she graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education teaching chemistry and biology. She has 2 Masters degrees from Wilkes University in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. While teaching Honors and AP Chemistry, Mrs. Guarriello was awarded the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Inspirational Teaching Award (March 2014) and the American Chemical Society Outstanding Teacher Award (June 2012) in addition to Anthony Ruggerio Outstanding High School Teacher of the Year Award for the Bethlehem Area School District (2011).

While teaching at Liberty High School Mrs. Guarriello served as the science department chair and then moved into administration assuming the role of Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. Through that role, Mrs. Guarriello led a team of teachers to focus on the needs of freshmen creating The LHS Freshman Center which won the IU 20 Excellence in Education Award (May 2014) for the positive impact the improvements made in academics, learning environment, and adjustment to high school for its students.

After leaving Liberty High School, Mrs. Guarriello moved to Southern Lehigh High School for 3 years as an Assistant Principal and then moved to Saucon Valley High School in order to take on the role of principal. While principal at Saucon Valley HS, Mrs. Guarriello and her team were awarded the Colonial IU Award for Excellence in Education (April 2018) for their work on school climate and culture which focused on inclusion and acceptance between diverse groups of students. Mrs. Guarriello was then asked to return to Southern Lehigh as Principal where she served for 4 years before moving to Emmaus High School where she is now the proud principal serving the EHS students, staff, and community.
