EHS Red Cross Club

Did you know that a blood transfusion is needed every two seconds in the U.S.? EHS Red Cross Club is promoting Miller-Keystone Blood Donation Centers. If you donate blood and have proof, come to room 16 (Montepeque) for a bag of candy! Additionally, you’ll get a T-shirt from Miller-Keystone at the donation site.  See the fliers posted around the school to scan the QR code for more information.

Spring Musical Auditions

Auditions for EHS’s spring musical, Mamma Mia, will be held in the auditorium from 2:30-6 PM on Thursday, Dec. 12, Friday, Dec. 13, and Monday, Dec. 16.  Audition information and materials are posted in the Theater Department Schoology group.

Crew applications for Mamma Mia are posted in the Theater Dept Schoology group as well.

All forms are due to Mrs. Kuebler no later than Monday, Dec. 9th.

Toiletry Collection

Student Forum is collecting toiletries for families who unexpectedly need to stay at Lehigh Valley Hospital overnight. Things like travel size shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and hairbrushes are appreciated. The collection will run until December 10th and items can be dropped off in the Counseling Office. If there are any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to Ms. McKinney or Mrs. Grim in the Counseling Office.

Operation Giggles

The Interact club is proud to announce the start of Operation Giggles’ winter collection! We are collecting any new or unused toys starting now through December 20th and will be donating them to the Lehigh Valley Riley Children’s Hospital. There will be boxes that you can drop the toys off at by Mrs. Kaunitz’s room 216. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Peyton Kilka (pkilka26@eastpennsd.org). Student Wellness Group Sign Ups

Healthy Relationships: This group will focus on supporting students struggling with relationships (family, friends, acquaintances, and significant others). Students will increase their ability to develop and maintain supportive relationships and communicate effectively. They will learn how to resolve interpersonal conflict and how to cope with socially stressful situations.
Wednesdays 8:30 – 9:15 Starting December 4th; MMR (318)

Study Skills: This group will focus on note-taking strategies, study strategies, planning/prioritizing, improving focus and time management, stress management, knowing your resources, and the importance of managing situations when they don’t go as planned.
Wednesdays 9:30 – 10:15 Starting December 4th; MMR (318)

Teen Issues: This group will focus on a variety of topics: anxiety management, healthy boundaries, depression, managing emotions, coping mechanism, self-advocacy, social media management, social stressors, etc.
Wednesdays 11:40 – 12:25 Starting December 4th; MMR (318)

Conflict Resolution: This group will focus on increasing students’ ability to manage anger effectively, identify sources of anger, resolve conflicts productively, and consider alternative solutions to a problem in order to experience more positive outcomes.
Wednesdays 12:40 – 1:25 Starting December 4th; MMR (318)

Art for Relaxation: Students will be provided the needed supplies to create a series of hands-on projects.  The purpose is to guide students through creative art making and provide alternative means to practice stress management. The program is only 4 weeks and open to 10 students; attendance at each session is mandatory.

Food Drive

The Interact Club is hosting a food drive for families and students in the East Penn School District and we need your help. Please donate cans of fruit (preferably 14 oz) outside room 216 (Mrs. Kaunitz) by December 12th. Thank you for your help!

Peer Tutoring

If you are interested in meeting with a tutor, please complete the 2024-25 Student Tutoring Request Form.  Peer Tutoring will be offered during HHR on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Library.  Please visit your “Class of” Schoology Group for more information.

School Store

The EHS School Store is open during HHR and closed Thursdays. Stop by and get Hornet merch and game themed merchandise. Cash or check only.

After School Homework Help

EHS is offering free after-school help twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 2024). Teachers will be available to help with homework, studying for exams, or improving the understanding of course material. Taking advantage of this resource can make a significant difference in academic performance and overall confidence at school. 

Teachers will be available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 -3:30 in the EHS library. They are happy and excited to help students succeed in their classes for the remainder of the school year.  Students do NOT need to sign up in advance. They just need to come to the library at 2:30 and make sure they have transportation home at 3:30.

Late Bus

Sign up online using the Late Bus Google Form in Schoology under the Materials section or on the EHS website under Morning Announcements, there is a link under the Late Bus post. The late bus will run Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of May.

Chromebook / IT Help

The IT department will hold Chromebook support for students during Hornet Homeroom (10:18 – 10:55) and from 2 to 2:25 pm outside the library entrance.

** Thursdays only, there will be NO tech support during Hornet homeroom, ONLY AT 2-2:25PM **

Clubs

  • The Biology Olympiad Study Club meetings take place every other Tuesday after school and every Monday during homeroom in Mr. LaBar’s room (112).   • Club Med: You’re invited to join Club Med. Meetings will be held the first and third Tuesday of the month in room 140 after school. Join our Schoology group: D4FH-57MD-DQQJS
  • Habitat for Humanity will be selling Celsius drinks ($3) and donuts ($2) Thursday mornings before school in the HIVE.
  • The Interact Club will continue to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please drop off tabs in the container outside of room 216.
