Calling all Cultures! East Penn Hosts International Fair

Calling all cultures!

The East Penn School District is holding an international fair on Saturday, February 25th from 11:00 – 2:00 in the EHS cafeteria, and we need your help!  Students, administration, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to work as individuals or in groups to do one or more of the following:

A.  Display/teach your culture!  How?

  • Have a poster/tri-fold display
  • Run a slideshow/video
  • Share food samples
  • Display/teach arts and crafts
  • Have an interactive game or activity that participants can take home (especially for elementary students)

B.  Perform your culture!  How?

  • Dance
  • Sing
  • Play an instrument specific to a culture, or the music from a specific culture
  • Recite poetry

In the past we’ve had Irish step dancing, hula dancing, singing, cultural readings, etc.  We will make a schedule of performances to begin at 12:00.

Those with EPSD logins – Join our Schoology course using the code J334-VGZV-TGMBH and complete the participant form.

Other community members without an EPSD login – Fill out the participant form here to get involved.

Note:  Through a basket raffle and food/drink sales, in the past we raised $1000 for a scholarship for an EHS senior planning to major in World Language or International Studies with our basket raffle. We are looking for new fundraising ideas to replace the basket raffle that is no longer allowed. Please contact Jessica Babbitt with any ideas you may have or if you have any further questions about participating in the fair.
