What is Kindergarten Orientation?

In the spring, elementary schools will invite you to bring your child to visit their new school and meet the principal, teachers, and school counselor. The orientations assist both parents and children in their transition to a new environment and provide a little insight into the school.

Your child may participate in various stations during your time at the school to become familiar with the teachers and staff, these may include:

DrawingShow the artist in you
PlayPlay with blocks, Legos, and other toys while meeting some of your new classmates
Show What You KnowTalk with a teacher about letters and numbers

Kindergarten Orientation occurs in late spring. You will have an additional opportunity to visit your new school in August at the Meet the Teacher day. During Meet the Teacher, children will be able to meet their teacher, tour their specific classroom, and take a ride on a school bus! You’ll find out more information as the time to begin school gets closer.
