Congratulations to the LMMS Mural Club for completing their mural project for the school hallway at Lower Macungie Middle School.
Kutztown University Graphic Design student, Morgan Nadin, created the overall design for the mural as her internship in 2020. All LMMS students had the opportunity to design and paint different individual vignettes from Morgan’s design.
The overall design was created in March 2020. Due to COVID restrictions, they didn’t start to paint it onto the wall till September of 2021. The mural was formally completed in May of 2022.
The mural is 58 feet long by 10 feet high. It is designed to showcase the variety of afterschool clubs and sports teams they have at LMMS through the appearance of a gallery wall. The mural is strategically placed in the long hallway that connects the music rooms to the gym. The mural can be viewed by all of the visiting sports teams when they come to play their games. It is also a great visual tie between the arts and sports.Â
