May 2026
Dear Parent / Guardian:
Your child has medication in the school health office. Your child is not allowed to transport medication to or from school as per district policy. The only exception is for those students who have completed the necessary requirements to carry their own inhaler, epinephrine auto-injector, or sunscreen. Medication may not be stored in the school between the end of the current school year and the beginning of the next school year. Parents of students who attend either the Extended School Year program or Summer Learning Academy must pick up medication and deliver it to the health room in the assigned building at the start of the program. A new medication authorization form for the 2026-2027 school year must accompany medications for these Summer Programs.
Please arrange for either yourself or another adult to come to school to pick up the medication before the last day of school or within 30 minutes after dismissal on the last day of school, June 10, 2026.. At that time, medication left in the health room will be disposed of through the Emmaus Police Department as part of the Pennsylvania Drug Take Back program.
If you anticipate that your child will require medication in the next school year or for the summer programs, you may download an Authorization for Medication form on the district website. Go to the Resources Tab and click on Forms and Documents. Here you will find the Authorization for Medication in School/ Medication Procedure. New medication authorization is required for each school year. Forms must be dated after July 1 of the current year, for example, a form for the 2026-2027 school year must be dated after July 1, 2026.
Thank you for your cooperation and have an enjoyable and safe summer.
